I am a clinical audiologist, clinician researcher and honorary lecturer at the University of Auckland with a strong interest in public health and service re-design. I completed my PhD through University of Queensland in 2023 investigating audiology-led models of care in ORL services. I currently work as an Advanced Audiology Practitioner at Health NZ Counties Manukau, Auckland and hold a Health Research Council (HRC) Clinical Practitioner Research Fellowship (2024). My current research interests include addressing inequities in hearing and ear care in Aotearoa, including the development of innovative services, technologies and tools to provide effective, efficient and sustainable improvements in clinical care. I am particularly interested in implementation science as a methodology to improve translation of innovative technologies into clinical practice.

I am a clinical pharmacist, pharmacoepidemiologist and Senior Lecturer in Clinical Pharmacy Practice at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland. My research asks who is harmed by the medicines and health systems we use, and how data and technology can help prevent that harm.

My work spans population-based pharmacoepidemiology, AI-assisted clinical decision support and digital health. I use linked national health data to study medicine-related outcomes, particularly persistent opioid use, and develop clinically grounded AI tools that translate evidence into practice. This includes leading a LLM-assisted colonoscopy referral-triage programme and contributing to disease prediction using wearables.

Ketan is a Software Developer at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute with a background in Full-Stack development, artificial intelligence, cloud technologies, Android, AOSP, AR/VR, and game development. His current interests include digital health, wearable technologies, health data integration, AI-enabled healthcare applications, and the development of software platforms that support research and clinical innovation.

He is interested in exploring how data collected from wearable devices and connected sensors can be structured, integrated, and used responsibly in research and healthcare settings. His areas of expertise include mobile application development, wearable and sensor integration, software architecture, cloud-based systems, and emerging immersive technologies.

Tania Moerenhout is a Senior Lecturer at the Bioethics Department of the University of Otago and a general practitioner in Ōtepoti Dunedin. She graduated as a general practitioner in Belgium in 2009 and completed a PhD in philosophy at Ghent University in 2019 before moving to Aotearoa in 2020. Her main research interest lies in digital health ethics, with a focus on integrating ethical considerations into technology design, digital assistive technologies for older adults, the ethical use of artificial intelligence in primary care, and the secondary use of routinely collected healthcare data. Tania is a member of the National Ethics Advisory Committee and of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians’ ethics committee. She is also a principal investigator for AIMCura, an MBIE-AI Singapore-funded project aiming to develop an AI-driven platform for cognitive health in older adults.

Jarmo Pulkkinen, PhD in Administrative Sciences, is an independent researcher at the University of Lapland in Finland, focusing on digital transformation in public-sector service production. His research has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of Health Organization and Management, BMC Health Services Research, and Scandinavian Journal of Public Administration. Pulkkinen works as an editorial secretary for the Finnish Administrative Studies journal and serves as an active peer reviewer for several scientific journals. Over the past 20+ years, Pulkkinen has worked on digitalization projects with 300+ public- and private-sector organizations as an entrepreneur at Web Fellows Ltd. Currently, he works as a fixed-term AI project manager at Wellbeing Services County of Central Uusimaa, a public health and social care organization.

I am a colorectal and general surgeon, Head of the Department of Surgery and Critical Care at the University of Otago, Christchurch, and a clinician with Health New Zealand. My research focuses on the development, validation and implementation of artificial intelligence to improve surgical and cancer care. Current programmes include digital pathology, computer vision for surgery, multimodal prediction models integrating pathology, imaging and clinical data, and AI-supported clinical decision-making. I am particularly interested in translating AI from research into routine clinical practice through multidisciplinary collaborations involving clinicians, engineers, computer scientists, health providers and industry. My goal is to develop clinically useful, trustworthy AI that improves patient outcomes, supports healthcare professionals and advances precision medicine.

I work at the intersection of disability support care and artificial intelligence, drawing on years of managing a residential care home and leading a team of 16 support workers. My focus is building practical, human-led AI tools that reduce admin burden for care workers, give families quiet peace of mind through pattern detection, and help clinicians navigate complex medical histories without replacing human judgement. I'm based in New Zealand and keen to connect with researchers, clinicians, and academics who share an interest in ethical, humble AI for disability and support care settings.

Associate Professor Alan Wang is a principal investigator at the Auckland Bioengineering Institute, Centre for Brain Research, and Medical Imaging Research Centre at the University of Auckland. He is also Theme Lead for Technology, Engineering and the Digital Economy at CCREATE-AGE, the University’s Co-Created Ageing Research Centre. He leads interdisciplinary research in AI-enabled medical imaging, computational neuroscience, intelligent rehabilitation, and healthy ageing. His work develops clinically relevant methods for disease detection, image quantification, outcome prediction, and personalised care, particularly in stroke, neurological disorders, cancer, and ageing. He collaborates with clinicians, engineers, communities, and industry to translate multimodal imaging, biosignals, digital health, and AI into practical and equitable healthcare tools.
